= Day 24
== Mission: "Make Contact with Skydagger Peak", special recon, (primary)
- We plan to bring *Red Echoing Wind* to show that we are not just a bunch of random ragtags.
- Spotting a dozen humans (civilians?) on our way. We approach cautiously.
- *Zayaevich* spots *Swift Storm* among the group
- We approach and start chatting
- Something is weird about this bunch. They're bitter. It seems that Skydagger Peak is hoarding resources and don't share.
- They warn us that the people at SP are not of the negotiating kind
- We venture on with them and take our chances
- On the plateau in front of SP are hundreds of run down civilian refugees, they are in bad shape
- *Green Shining Mountain* is the leader of the refugee camp, we find him to talk
- At least the old geezer knows the legion. Our reputation seems somewhat spotty in the wild south...
- *Red Echoing Wind* briefly tests *Green Shining Mountain* for corruption, he's clean
- We reveal that we are looking for spaceships to escape this hellish earth, or whatever is left of it
- After listening to loudspeakers for a while, we finally meet some people
- They are not very cooperative (surprise...?), but we manage to have them notify the higher-ups
- We reconvene the next day
- This time we are lead inside. There's a big meeting planned that we will attend as well.
- Before we hand in our weapons, *Zayaevich* rigs a timed bomb, in case we don't come back. How successful that is remains to be seen...
- *Colay* chats up a technician at the coffee machine
- He suggests to talk to *Reina Dhaeva* about the space shuttle later
- The meeting starts, the legion arriving is a central topic
- *Silver Rising Mountain* introduces Colay to the crowd, about 70 people
- He explains that a crowd of about 2000 people will arrive in a week and that we heard about the star-settler program that's supposed to be researched here
- The crowd asks some questions, how far away away the enemy is an if we can contribute with knowledge or preparations
- We disclose that we have fusion engineers, some initial research about new settling as well as the DNA catalogue from the ark
- We try to convince the crowd that the legion would probably not invade SP. Probably.
- They reveal that they don't plan to flee the planet anymore, but instead hide underground
- The crowd will discuss and reconvene in two days to decide whether to change plans or not
- *Zayaevich* notes that we should at least take care of some of the children outside, for they are the future of humanity. This will be also discussed in two days.
- *Zayaevich* checks on his time bomb and realizes that he can't disarm it anymore. Ten minutes to go. Tick tock. Tick tock.
- He manages to sway his way to have a scientist open a window so that he can conveniently dispose of it, semi-discretely
- In the meantime we try to find out who the key figures are in this rout
- Furthermore, there are three factions, the rocket men and women ("spacers"), the moles ("survivalists") and the ones that wanted to communicate with the enemy instead
- *Zaya Kayevna* who seems to be respected among the guards seems neutral
- The communicators seem to have tragically died out due to a carbon monoxyde accident. Accident...?
- *Zayaevich* and *Tatinikayevna* try to find out more about the accident, but run into a dead end
- *Chevalier* manages to convince *Zaya Kayevna* that the space race seem to be the more sensible option
- *Colay* can make *Reina Dhaeva* so enthousiastic that she will convince more others as well
- *Tatinikayevna* can make *Silver Rising Mountain*, the main survivalist, at least doubt a bit
- *Colay* finally talks to the technicians, but they stay sceptical
- At the final vote, *Turma Okal* offers to convince the crowd with his powers
- He and *Colay* try some good-cop-bad-cop approach to distract from the magic
- After more and more discussion we can narrowly swing the mood
- Some people in the audience, however, are very sceptical about the legitimacy of the vote. Trouble ahead, it seems.
