Vidorants Vault I
- Candlekeep fulfilled is promise
- We got an Arkanum-sealer (Arkanumversiegler) ritual
- We need a set made out of special ore (Roterz) and magical dust, and bind it with the ritual
- Once created, we need to implant them around a cave/lair; it creates a magical bubble that no spell can penetrate
- We found a lady dwarf "Scarlett Goldbeard" in possession of this special ore, she has a bad reputation of making shady deals
- Even boss of a thieving guild?
- She lives in Waterdeep, uh oh
- Our knight "Sir Vecken of the Broken Horn" managed to get us an invitation
- Our castellan Vinnie(?) is probably also still somewhere in Waterdeep
- We meet our dwarf contact in a tavern with intrically decorated walls
- A curtain divides the room, we sit down on one side of it
- Screams in the background
- A voice greets us from behind the curtain
- We are offered 5kg of the ore and she asks us to retrieve a long lost stolen object - a ruby diadem - snatched by the elve "Nixlanna Vidorant" formally working for the Silver Fingers
- Screams turn into death howls
- We agree to retrieve the "loot"
- Nixlanna has villa in the nice part of town and a sort of lair/vault in a shabby part of town
- The diadem has historical meaning for Scarlett, a symbol of their (former) power
- We use house Vecken as a home-base
- Glenn turns himself into a spider to scout the villa
- Gwenn buys shabby clothes, dirts herself up and goes "begging" around the lair
- Alasdair buys noble clothes without the Rabenzwist seal and tries to find out more about Nixlanna in the higher circles of town
- Glenn sneaks into the villa
- Nixlanna leaves the house
- She is tall with long, black hair
- Classy clothing, made for stealth
- She's wearing silver jewels
- Glenn enters the villa at the upper level
- The interior seems underwhelming
- He can map out the interior
- There seem to be no very valuable objects in the villa
- A few letters are lying around
- He bails out once the house cats start to hunt him
- Alasdair seems to blend in, the guards ignore him
- He scouts the surroundings and asks about Nixlanna
- She lives here since half a year
- Weird stories, used to be a thief living from her loot?
- She seems to have a rather low profile
- She is regularly seen with a halfling and a lady half-ork
- Nixlanna seems to be away often, probably around her vault
- Gwenn seems to attract some attention
- The vault is an isolated building
- It has small windows, high up
- One person patrols the perimeter, two more stand guard with crossbows
- The inhabitants here don't bat an eye, it seems to be normal
- She spots an old, toothless lady shouting out of a window
- Guards rotate after a while, they seem to be private, not town guards
- There must be more guards on the inside
- A balcony has a rope-ladder, leading up
- Guards knock, and then open their door with their own keys
- Gwenn talks to a locksmith who wants to sell his shop for 100GP, he can also create replacement keys for a few silver
- We hit the pub; soon one of the guards comes in
- Alasdair coerces him into a drinking contest and they start binging
- He folds rather quickly, but Glenn casts protection from poison on Alasdair on the toilet
- Full of vigor Alasdair heads back and keeps drinking
- His drinking partner reveals quite some details about the vault: 3 guards outside, 19 inside; and sort of a floor plan
- The guards seem to be rather capable with fighting experience
- Alasdair brings the guard home and steals his key
- Gwenn takes the key and brings him to the locksmith
- We bring back the original key and call it a night
- The next day, within house Vecken, we spot four zombies (?!) walking down the street
- We follow them until they collide with a horsewagon and the horses are bolting
- They speed towards us and trample Gwenn and Alasdair
- Glenn jumps on the horse and manages to calm it down
- The coachman remarks that weird things are coming from the cemetary
- Gwenn runs away and telepathically indicates Alasdair to do the same, there's no time for this nonsense and we should not attract too much attention
- Glenn freezes one zombie
- A young man, driven by testosterone, appears and attacks one zombie
- Alasdair runs towards him and tackles the zombie
- Alasdair's back gets scratched a bit and he gets attacked by two zombies
- He punches both and runs away
- Suddenly, a fireball explodes in the zombie's midst and a hooded "hero" - Randall Sunthal, wearing heavy armor - flies by and vanishes again
- We reconvene in house Vecken
