Alasdair sees and can speak with the spirit of anyone he kills. They don't have to help, but his Dad Fürst Fergus usually tries.

Alasdair killed his father to rid the realm of a tyrant and help his brother Frederick on the throne. Fergus cursed him, with the souls of Alasdairs slain victims talking to him. Since then Alasdair turned more peaceful, not entirely by choice.
