Cat

Personality Traits

The best way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it.

I don't pay attention to the risks in the situation. Never tell me the odds.

Ideal

Freedom. Chains are meant to be broken, as are those who would forge them.

Bond

I'm trying to pay off an old debt I owe to a generous benefactor.

Flaw

I have a "tell" that reveals when I'm lying.

Appearance

Cat has dirty-blonde hair, usually bound in a tight ponytail, and light grey eyes. Even though she looks relatively young, she has a very serious look and demeanor when she is sober, and is often wearing an almost dirty looking crooked smile when she isn't. She looks very nimble and flexible, but not particularly muscular.

She always wears her dark blue cloak and hood, with her shield on her back, bow over her shoulder and rapier at her side. The shield as well as the bow have the symbol of Tempus embedded into it.

Background

Cat (maybe actually Catherine?) and her younger brother Dan (probably actually Daniel) grew up in an orphanage in the slums of Athkatla. It is estimated that Cat had to have been around four and Dan around three years old when they initially arrived there. Who brought them and what had happened to their parents is unknown. They don't remember either. Growing up in the slums meant a rough life with little to eat and the constant danger of being somehow involved in violence. For as long as Cat can remember, she always felt that she had to protect her little brother. She wasn't very strong but quick as a fox. This became increasingly more important as Dan grew older and got himself into trouble on a regular basis. He was very a very smart child, cunning even. He taught himself to read and write and had the greatest fun outsmarting and tricking the other, less mentally but often more physically capable, kids in the orphanage. But Cat managed to always prevent him from being harmed too badly.

One day, Cat had to have been around twelve years old by now, a strange robed figure came to the orphanage and spent the whole day sitting on the front porch, just watching the kids and taking notes. The next day, both of them where called to see Auntie Pia, the head of the orphanage; the robed figure was also there. The robed figure told them that Dan showed great potential for becoming a wizard, but the cost of getting him admitted to the wizard college was high. The figure offered to cover the expenses for Dans training, if Cat agreed to join the "armed forces" of the organisation the figure worked for - for life. After some deliberation they decided that this was their chance of getting out of that shithole and agreed. Dan was taken away the same day by the robed figure. That was the last time Cat saw her brother. The next day Cat and some of the other orphans where carted off to a place that everybody there only called "The Citadel". After being inspected for their respective talents they were assigned to different sections of The Citadel were they began their martial training. It was a close call, but in the end Cat was selected to become a Cleric of Tempus, the god of war. She never learned what the other possibility would have been.

Years of training passed until she was found to be ready and assigned to a group known as "The Blue Cloaks". They often received orders that were more than questionable, robbing and killing traveling merchants and bandits alike. Cat doesn't enjoy her new life much, but at least she doesn't have to worry about going hungry anymore and tells herself that she has to keep her word in order to keep her brother safe.
